Lagoon Heaven!

When I was in Primary 3, my cousins and my family decided to spend our December holidays together. The place we decided to go was Sunway Lagoon,in Malaysia. As the title said, it was heaven. That holiday had always topped my chart of "the best holidays".

We stayed in a five star hotel. It was so perfect. No wonder it was rated five stars. It had a kitchen and two toilets with both a bathtub and a shower.Unlike other hotels which I had tried staying in, this had a 'full' kitchen. What I meant was the kitchen had a stove,a full-sized refrigerator, and two sinks, one for the dishes while the other for washing hands.

In the hotel, I became the 'maid' as I did most of the chores, and I did them voluntarily.I washed the dishes, cleaned the sink, bathtub and shower.Eversince I was born, I loved cleaning. My parents were so proud of me.

Other than the amazing hotel which also provided breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper, we went to the amusement park.It was the very first time I went to such a place. It was amazing!

We had to get passes of course. In addition, the park was right outside the hotel. We went to the pool firstly, and something really scary happened.Probably more to frightening. While we were in the pool, I noticed a security guard heading towards us.Since young, I had always been scared of security guards. They look fierce, and they would not approach us unless something was wrong. So she told us to get out of the pool immediately.I ran behind my brother as I was scared.

Our parents did not get in the pool with us.They asked her why. Then, she said that a snake had got loose somehow and someone had reported that he or she had seen a snake in that same pool.My youngest cousin freaked out.I could not imagine a snake right in front of our hotel!

However, we did not let such a thing destroy the fun we were having. We proceeded to this long, five storey high slide. That was where I developed my fear of heights. However, because it was such an experience, I actually slid down that slide about three times in a row.The scariest part was that the buoy actually flung in the air and landed on the slide.Everytime someone or a pair slid down, they must be flung about a metre in the air and land down. What if we ended up outside the slide? I did not want to even think about it.

Since we were already wet, we decided to get wetter. In addition, it was raining. My family got on this log ride.Yes, a log but not the real wood-log.It was a plastic one.It was very scary when we entered a cave and suddenly dropped, more to slide, down at such a speed, with water gushing at us.Furthermore, there were no seatbelts. So we had to grip as strong as we could to the metal bars at the sides. It was so slippery that I was almost flung away.I did not take that ride a second time.It was too scary.

The next day, we decided to stay dry. We got to the same park, and had so much fun. We got in this bumper car.I got bumped like crazy,in the end, I had a massive headache, but that would not stop me from having fun!

Next,I got in this 'cowboy boots' ride. That was the fastest ride I had ever been in.It was so,so,so,so,so fast! It had a bar which kept us in place.Since I was at the side where there was no cover, which was mainly to let people in, my leg was sticking out like crazy.Thankfully I could get it in back before I broke it.The ride would certainly not be fun if we did not swing our hands up high.Did I mention that I screamed the loudest at every ride? Yes,I screamed like never before.Even when I had a sorethroat.

Next, also a fast ride, was this tea cup.It even spun 360 degrees from left to right.Luckily, I had not eaten much before the ride. After one ride, my parents gave up and got out but, they let me stay for another ride. So, I joined my other cousins whose tea cup still had space. My mind was whirling.

Lastly, but sadly, I could not get on the viking. It is the most famous ship, except that it turns 360 degress.Yes, I really meant it. It pauses for a while once it was at the top,I could see hair and people dangling. However, I was too short to get on the ride.I had to be one metre and forty centimetres in height, but I was just 135cm at that time.I was terribly upset.Until today, I had not gone on this ride yet.I hope that one day, I could go on such a thrilling ride.

I wished I could go to such a fantastic place again, where I could be just who I am.

Living in Jakarta,Indonesia :D

During the last December, I went to Jakarta for holiday and to meet my beloved awesome cousin. She had to migrate to Jakarta as her father had some working issues there. However, recently last June, she migrated back to Singapore.I got crazy,I missed her so,so,so much! Anyway, let's get back to the story.

The plane I was boarding to go to Jakarta was called SriWijaya if i am not wrong. Eventhough we got free food during the plane ride, the smell of the plane almost made me vomit. I have a very, very sensitive nose, that is why I sneeze easily and could not use too much perfume. This will sound a little stupid, but I hate taxis,if this makes sense and you can see the relation.

Other than the strong-smelling plane, the food they served was surprisingly nice. That really helped my growling stomach.I get hungry all the time,I wonder why?

So after we got off the plane, we obviously have to get our luggage. However, something truly epic happened.

As you guys know, our passports have to at least be 6 months,if I am not wrong, before it expires. If not, probably 2 years I think.Mine had only left 2 months,I think. It was hard to get through, where they chop your passports. My poor mother had to persuade him in an Indonesian dialect.I thought it was quite funny, how she spoke, but I had to be serious at that time. Luckily, we got through.Boy,was I elated!

After collecting our luggages, we proceeded to the arrival point. My cousin and I were jumping like crazy. Of course, we were not the only family who went there. My other related cousins and relatives were there too.

As you guys are aware, the currency there...As my cousin was rich, even in Singapore, she obviously bought a bungalow. It was massive to me as I had always lived in HDB flats.

So,one of the things I had to do whenever I am in a foreign country; shopping! We bought tons of stuff: clothings, accessories and lots more. Oh,how I wish I could go there again now.

Other than shopping, all of us also went to Bandung, to go up a mountain which I had forgotten the name. It was super cold. Before we went there, my 'leader' which is my cousin's mother who was staying in Jakarta, said that it would not be too cold. So, I decided not to bring any jacket.I even wore 3/4 pants. When we got there and opened the door, freezing cold air rushed in. I got out and five minutes later, my lips got flakey and I was freezing and shivering. It was so cold! Then, it was too cold that all of us had to go to the toilet.Yes,all of us.

The toilet was in a mosque. As muslims, we must always be clean and wash our feet before entering the mosque. There was this small, narrow stream of water. However, the width of it was simply to big to jump across.I ended up in the water. The water was too cold, that no words could describe how cold it was.Even the tap water in the toilet was so cold.

After that chaos, we got out of the mosque to take pictures.Honestly, the pictures were hilarious. We were so wild. Our poses were weird and our hair ,for the girls, were flying everywhere.

Okay,I shall stop here for now, otherwise my blog would continue forever.

Overall, I find the journey truly enriching and fun.Why enriching? Well, on the way to Bandung, I saw kids, very small little young children, so brave going into roads and stopping drivers to ask for money. My heart just sank. I realised how fortunate I was. Also, the kids ranged from four to thirteen years old. There were no adults watching over them. How I wish I could donate, but we were late to go to Bandung, we were trying to stick to the plan. So, we refused and continued out journey.Surprisingly, I even saw thirteen year olds driving motorcycles, girls in addition, with their little brothers and sisters, either driving to school or home from the market.

I hope you enjoyed this super long blog post. How I wish I could go there again...

Experiencing Secondary School life :)

My first day of secondary school was quite an experience.Obviously some naughty seniors would have teased the 'newcomers'.

So on the very first day,I proceeded to my classroom.I was nervous, eventhough I knew I was supposed to be all energetic and excited. First thing I noticed was that the classroom looked very dull, unlike my primary school's.It had lots of bright colours painted.Oh well,I'm going to be a teenager anyway. I sat at the table near to the teacher's. Sadly, no one wanted to sit with me...Until, Lee Kang Wei(a.k.a. "cute boy") came.He was the last pupil to arrive in the classroom.

So after we introduced ourselves and my teachers giving out papers and telling us what to bring and such, we were to procceed to the hall for some assembly programmes.

I remembered bringing such a huge bag as I brought all the textbooks and workbooks. Yes, it may seem a little dumb now, but I was new to the school. I was not sure of what to bring and their expectations. As I was making my way to the hall, I heard a senior say,"Wow, a turtle bag!Hahahaha! Oh yeah, she's a newcomer!" Boy was I angry! But I kept quiet and moved on.After the assembly programmes,we were allowed to go home.

Shortly days later, we had our Sec1 Orientation Camp. Those days were the best. Our OGLS were so funny and friendly, giving us that warmth of welcome to the Riverside family. We bonded with each other so much and so quick during the camp.

Oh,did I mention about what I think of the term "Riversidians"? Well honestly, I find it a little weird, but eventually got used to it. I still love OGLs.They were really awesome seniors!Even after the camp,we stayed in touch.Sadly, some of the seniors are going to graduate next year.oh well, life goes on and there's no stopping! Remembering our cute, innocent faces before and horrid attitude now, is quite memorable to me. (:
